||Frequently Asked Questions and Sending Mail to Inmates
1. Can prisoners and inmates have magazines?
Yes! Inmates can have magazines sent to them at their facility.
2. Can I send magazines or books to inmates myself? Do you ship to prisons?
Jails and prisons only allow inmates to receive books and magazines from stores and publishers directly. If you send them yourself, they will most likely be returned to you.
We ship to jails, prisons, correctional facilities, detention centers, ICE centers - of all levels in all 50 states. We send to federal, state, county and city facilities.
3. Do you ship to prisons, detention centers, correctional centers, or jails?
Yes - we ship to all level facilities! We ship to prisons, detention centers, correctional centers, jails and anywhere else in the country you may want to send magazines.
4. What magazines can I send to __________ facility? What magazines can the inmate receive?
We keep track of what gets returned to us, so if you have a question about a specific facility, please ask us. You can chat with us, email us or call us.
What you can send to an inmate depends largely on the specific facility. It is always best to double-check with the mail room at the facility - we can do this for you, if you ask us to check. Otherwise, we will send what you order.
5. What happens if the magazines don't get through the mail room or are returned to you?
Mail rooms check everything that is sent to an inmate. If the mail room decides that the inmate cannot have something, it will give a notice to the inmate and return the materials to the sender.
If the magazines are returned to the Goodie Mags offices, we will notify you as soon as we get them back. We will also issue a credit for 100% of the price you paid for the magazines only. The gift certificate issued will not cover the shipping you previously paid.
6. What are the most popular magazines to send to a prison?
We do keep track of what is getting sent across the country to jails and prisons. We put a red star on each of the magazine covers that is best selling for the month. There are particular titles that always sell well - Men's Health, Men's Journal, Motor Trend, Maxim and Smooth are a few of them.
